IS iPHONE 2.0 WORTH THE HASSLE?

It's been hailed as the holy grail of cell phones and one of the hottest electronics this year. You guessed it. It’s the iPhone 2.0, also known as iPhone 3G. It's been debuted for a little over a month now, and Apple has sold more than a million of them.

Recently, however, there have been many news articles about the issues with the new iPhone. Some of the known issues include: problems switching from the "E" network to the "3G" network and vise versa, problems with the GPS receiver, dropped calls, poor reception, and slow surfing speeds on all networks.

As with any new device, there will be bugs and kinks that the company has to work out, and that’s why you should never buy something new the day it comes out. Instead you should wait a few months. Many sources say that the problems with the iPhone 2.0 can't be fixed via a software upgrade, because it is a problem with the chips inside the device. Is all this hassle worth a new iPhone and a two-year contract? It's up to you, but I think that you're better off buying a nice Smartphone or a BlackBerry—even the LG Voyager is a nice phone.

AT&T has had many problems with their network over the years. I have had them for the last two years and disliked many things about them. I think Verizon has a much better coverage area and a much faster network overall. It's always best to research something before you buy it and there are many good sites that do tech reviews.
