TITANS WRAP UP REGULAR SEASON CROWN

05-26-09 - The Taconic Hills girls’ softball team wrapped up its winning Patroon Conference regular season on Thursday when they traveled to Cairo-Durham and bested the Mustangs 8-1. The win caps off the Titans first league title in four years as they look toward a high seed in the upcoming Section II Sectionals.
Aleshia Link started on the mound for the Titans and was completely dominant, as she has been all season long. Link threw six innings, allowing 0 runs, 0 hits, and 0 walks, while striking out 16 batters. Nicole Torchia came on in relief in the seventh inning, giving 1 hit, 1 walk, while striking out 2.
At the plate, Alyssa Van Alphen went 4-4 with 3 singles, a double, and an RBI. Both Link and Becky Edgeworth finished 2-3 with 2 singles and an RBI, while Kelsey Campbell's lone hit was a triple that scored 2 runs.
The Titans will return to action next week after they find out their seed during the upcoming Sectional meeting.
