ICC GIRLS TAKE TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP

05-18-09 - Ichabod Crane Lady Riders dethroned the Chatham Panthers to win the coveted Patroon Conference Girls’ Track and Field title 140.5 to 128. The match was a battle with the elements, and times were slowed by rain and strong head wins. ICC first-year coach Tim Stewart used a combination of young runners in eighth grader Mikela Freeman and freshmen standouts Cameron Samuelson, Natalie Nicholson , Jen Receveur, and Alicia Mink. Junior Lisa Bodratti and senior leader Rachel Dellehunt also helped ICC upset the 2008 Patroon Champions. The Panthers were led by the outstanding combination of Haley Madsen and Leah Wightman, two of the very best runners in the Patroon Conference to date.
