TACONIC HILLS SOFTBALL CONTINUES TO DOMINATE SEASON

05-10-09 - The Titans continued their winning ways on the softball diamond in Taconic Hills on as they controlled their game with Catskill from start to finish winning 15-0. Using 22 hits the Titans scored in every inning except the first. Every Titan but one had a hit in the game.

Top performers for the Titans were Alyssa Van Alphen, who had four hits including a triple, three RBIs, and two runs; Kailynn Keeler, who scored three runs while hitting three hits—the biggest being a home run; Becky Edgeworth and Elyse Yasinski, each with three hits.

The clear MVP for the Titans was Aleshia Link. She continued to baffle hitters as she pitched three innings of hitless ball. Out of the nine Catskill batters she faced, she struck out seven of them. Link even contributed on offense adding two runs, three RBIs, and two hits, including a homerun.

Nicole Torchia pitched the other three innings for the Titans and picked up three strikeouts while giving up two hits and walking one. For Catskill, Baxter and Shanley accounted for the two hits—both singles.

Next up for the Titans is a home match versus ICC on Wednesday May 11.
