U12 CRANE GIRLS SOCCER TEAM WINS SEASON OPENER

05-05-09 - The girls’ U12 Crane Soccer team, coached by Matt Niemeyer and assisted by Sue Mahar, won their opening season game against Ravena 4-0. Emily Phillips scored three goals in the first half. Katie Grace had three saves. In the second half ,Phillips again scored, bringing her total on the day up to four goals. Rachael Harvender had two saves to preserve the shutout.

The excellent offense consisted of: Alexandra Funk, Jennifer Van Alphen, Jaycee Volkman, Rachael Mahar, Sarah Quinn Dempsey, Amanda Geiger, Johnna Kaiser, Julianna Bewick, and Jenna Zander.

The great defense team consists of: Katie Grace, Rachael Harvender, Megan Kirby, Regina Gagnon, Paige Niemeyer, and Maria Carlucci.

Assistant Coach Sue Mahar commented on the game: " The girls played extremely well as a team. Great game girls!"
