Wightman ran a 2:12.49 in the 800-meter, giving her first place in the New York State Division II (small school division). The victory gives Wightman the gold medal and title of NYPHSAA Division 2 state champion.
On day two, Wightman competed in the Federated race and finished in fourth place, just outside of the medals, but good enough to named "All State".
Of the 76 girls sent to the state meet from Section II, Wightman was one of just four to win their respective division and one of only eight to make the top four in their Federated Championship final.
Wightman’s time of 2:12.49 is a new Chatham school record, and one that will be hard to be break. The time is also twelfth best all time in Section II.
