06-04-09 - Fewer than two weeks after defeating Schuylerville in the Mechanicville Tournament, the Titans fell to the Black Horses—in a game of much greater importance. Nine days before the Titans won a nail-biter 1-0; on Tuesday they fell in Queensbury 2-0 to see their season come to a close.
Per her usual, Aleshia Link was very good on the mound for the Titans, going the distance and allowing 5 hits and one walk, while striking out 16 batters. At the plate, the Titans struggled, garnering only 2 walks and 4 hits. Link, Kailynn Keeler, Michelle Link, and Alexis McComb each picked up a hit. The Titans left eight runners on base in the loss.
The Titans’ season comes to an end, after winning the Patroon Conference regular season and making a deeper run in sectionals than any previous Titans softball squad. Scary news for the Patroon Conference and for Class B is that the Titans will lose just three players, none of whom is Link, our presumed League Most Valuable Player. The Titans who will graduate are Kelsey Campbell, Erica Yasinski, and Meagan Skelley.
