The Columbia-Greene Community College Twins dropped a pair of games on Friday and Saturday at home in the nationwide Coaches vs. Cancer event. In the first game of the two-game home stand, the Twins fell 80-55 to Herkimer, the team ranked second in Region III. Freshman guard Robert Dunn was hot from the outside, knocking in six three-point shots for his game total of 18 points, while Kamal Ramos scored 8 points to go along with his 10 rebounds.
In the second game, the Twins hosted Adirondack Community. They battled tough but lost 68-60. The Twins scored the first hoop down low thanks to Ramos, but that was the first and only lead C-GCC would hold in the ballgame. The Twins kept it close in the early goings before falling behind by 9 to Adirondack. Dunn scored 7 first-half points, while Ramos added 12, but it wasn’t enough. A jumper by Kellen Henderson with two seconds on the clock pushed the Twins deficit back up to 9.

then Jimmy Boyles draws a foul.
The Twins came out of the locker room fired up, led by their top scorer Eli Tillerson, who had been held to just 2 points in the first half. Tiller knocked down a triple and, after a defensive stop, scored on a drive just a minute and a half into the half. Every time Columbia-Greene got close, Adirondack came up with a big bucket. The lead cut to 3, Adirondack scored twice, the lead cut to 4. Then they hit a three-pointer. A Dunn drive followed by a Tillerson pull-up 3 the deficit to 1, with 4:10 left, but that was as close as C-GCC would get.

Tillerson finished with 18 points but his points were harder to come by than normal and that caused the Twins to struggle in half court. Dunn, who started the game with 7 points in the first half, cooled off, finishing with 9. Ramos stayed hot throughout, finishing with a team high 21 points and 10 rebounds. The 6’ 5” freshman is a walking double-double as he racks up double-digit points and rebounds nearly every game. Jimmy Boyles contributed 9 rebounds, while Lenny Coons and Charles Thomas added 4 points each. Mehdi Elyamine finished with 3 points and 5 rebounds from the point guard position.
The Twins have just seven games remaining on their schedule, five of which are home. To make the playoffs, the Twins will need to get to .500 in Region III Division III. Right now C-GCC stands at 9-12 overall, 5-11 in the division.
