"Hudson Valley is a good team," said Twins coach Pete Dedrick, "but we didn’t help ourselves out at all." In Game One, C-GCC pitcher Meghan McNeff struggled with her command, and the Twins committed some errors in the field that were too much to overcome. McNeff finished the game allowing all twelve runs, ten of which were earned, while walking nine and striking out six.
Former Taconic Hills player Kristen Knickerbocker finished the day going two for three at the plate. Cabrina Collesides collected a hit and two RBIs, while Nadia Ernst picked up a hit and an RBI in the loss.
In Game Two, McNeff found her command again and did not surrender a walk the entire game. McNeff again threw a complete game, allowing all eight runs, six of which were earned, while striking out five. "In Game Two, the first inning really hurt us," said Dedrick. The Twins could have gotten out of the inning 1-2-3, but an error proved costly and three runs came across for the Vikings.
Collesides kept up her hot start, going 2-2 for in the second game. On the season, Collesides 8 for 13, good for a .615 batting average.
Up next for the Twins is a Wednesday home game against league opponent Adirondack Community College. |
