TITANS TOP CLIPPERS IN NONLEAGUE SOFTBALL

04-13-09 - 7:55 am - Taconic Hills continued their undefeated season on Thursday as they topped Germantown 5-0 in nonleague softball action in Craryville. The Titans pounded out nine hits and scored four earned runs while holding the Clippers to just two hits. The teams combined for four errors, one by the Titans and three by Germantown.
Aleshia Link continued her dominance on the mound this season for the Titans as she threw a complete game two-hitter, while striking out an impressive 19 hitters. Sophomore Carissa Phillips pitched for the Clippers surrendered nine hits and four earned runs while striking out two and walking just one.
At the plate the Titans were led by Kailynn Keeler, who collected a pair of triples, two runs, and an RBI. Nicole Havlik added a hit, a run, and an RBI, while Alexis McComb collected a hit and two RBIs. Elyse DeRuzzio picked up a hit and a run, and Erika Yasinski had two hits and a run. Alyssa Van Alphen also picked up two hits for the Titans.
Linda Gerlach and Rachel Vale were the only Clippers who notched hits on the day, both singles.
The Titans improve to 3-0 overall on the year. Taconic Hills returns to action on Monday when they host a doubleheader against Rensselaer. The Clippers return to action next Friday when they head to Chatham for another nonleague contest.
