04-10-09 - After going undefeated in the Patroon Conference last season, the ICC Riders have taken a step in that direction again this year, beginning the season 1-0 after knocking off Hudson in Valatie 7-1. After playing a pair of tight games last season, the Riders found their groove in their opening league contest easing to the victory.

In her first varsity start, freshman pitcher Jessica Van Alphen starred on the mound, pitching all seven innings and surrendering just two hits. Van Alphen struck out 12 and walked just five in the contest.
