The Taconic Hills field hockey team’s season came to a close on Wednesday as they lost 3-0 to top-seeded Glens Falls. The Titans faced a potent offensive force in the Indians and put on a terrific defensive performance to hold the number one seed to just three goals.

“Our defense and goalie Katie Teaney fought hard and blocked many shots from Glens Falls aggressive front line,” said Titans coach Angela Webster via email. The Titans surrendered 23 shots on goal but just three goals--two in the first half and one in the second. Teaney made 20 stops in goal for the Titans in defeat.

“We came out stronger the second half, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to score against them,” added Webster. The Titans were able to get three shots on goal forcing one save by Glens Falls goalie Brittany Daniels.

The Titans finished the season 11-6 overall falling in the Semifinals of sectional play. Taconic Hills went 8-2 in the league—good for a share of the league title as they finished in a three-way tie with Ichabod Crane and Germantown.

“Overall, it was a great season, and I am very proud of their accomplishments,” said Webster.
