LADY RIDERS AND TITANS FALL ON SHORT SLATE OF TUESDAY GAMES

With Christmas eve just a night away there weren’t a lot of games going on Tuesday night, but two local teams did have contests and neither one came out victorious.

46 Maple Hill at Taconic Hills 22

A day after dropping their first league game of the year against undefeated Catskill the Titans hosted another undefeated team, this time defending Patroon Conference champions Maple Hill. The Titans dropped their second consecutive game and evened their league record at 2-2.

After keeping the game close early, falling behind just three points after one quarter, the Titans fell further behind going into the half after being outscored 9-6 in the second. Things only went down hill from there as the Titans were outscored 17-2 and 7-4 in the final two quarters.

The Titans struggled to contain Maple Hill center Katie Roth who registered a double double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. As usual plenty of Titans got in on the scoring with six players getting into the scoring column. Sadly for the Titans, of those six players who scored, only two of them scored more than 2 points, with Marie Bailly leading the way with 9 and Nicole Havlik scoring 5.

Taconic Hills returns to action Friday and Saturday in their own Taconic Hills Holliday Tournament.

63 Ichabod Crane at Mount Anthony 72

ICC dropped to 2-4 on the season after a non league loss to Mount Anthony of Vermont on Tuesday. The Riders struggled early as they have all season long to put points on the board and get stops on the defensive end. After falling behind by five points after one quarter the Riders surrendered 25 second quarter points and fell behind by 18 points. After cutting the lead to 16 after three the Riders tried to rally in the fourth but despite their 30 points it was not enough.

Rachel Dellehunt led the way for the Riders with 18 points while Becca Smith added 14. Elena Ooms added 9 while Sarah Wheeler posted 7 points and 7 rebounds.

The Riders return to action Friday and Saturday at the Glens Falls Tournament and then play again on Tuesday against Hoosic Valley, a team whom they were defeated by earlier this year.
