Two days after suffering a disappointing loss to North Country, the Columbia-Greene Twins bounced back at home, beating Dutchess County 80-66. Behind the scoring of Eli Tillerson and Robert Dunn, the Twins blew open a tight game in the second half and never looked back as they evened their record at 4-4.
Early on, the Twins came out hot with Mehdi Elyamine and Robert Dunn keeping C-GCC in front. After Dutchess fought back to tie the game at 26 with six minutes left, the Twins went on an 11-2 run sparked by back-to-back three-pointers by Tillerson. The Twins had a comfortable lead but could not hold off a 5-0 run by Dutchess in the final minute to cut the halftime lead to 43-33.

In the second half, every time Dutchess made a run, somebody on the Twins came through. Big man Kamal Ramos feeding Jimmy Boyles down low for an easy lay up, back to back three’s by Dunn—each time they needed a hoop, the Twins got one. With a 68-55 lead with 4:30 minute left, the Twins finally put the dagger into Dutchess. Boyles made a cross-court pass toward Dunn. With the ball flying high and defenders rushing him, Dunn jumped into the air and passed the ball to Tillerson. Before his feet even hit the ground, Tillerson calmly sank the three-point shot.
The Twins went on to ice the game with easy transition lay-up and free throws. Leading the way was Tillerson, who dropped 27, and Dunn who had 20 points including 6-9 shooting from three-point range. Ramos notched yet another double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Lenny Coons added 7 points and 7 rebounds, while Elyamine scored 8 and Boyles added 7 in the win.
