SUNDOG SOLAR ELIMINATES UPFRONT SOLAR ELECTIC INSTALLATION COSTS
PRESS RELEASE
SunDog Solar, an innovative
renewable energy company located in Chatham, NY, is offering a new
solar leasing program to qualifying business and homeowners, schools,
nonprofits, and municipalities. The Solar Leasing Program gives
customers the opportunity to have a solar electric (pv) system
installed without the large upfront costs formerly associated with
solar electric system ownership.
“We’re offering a new leasing program for residential, commercial,
municipal, and nonprofit customers now through the end of 2010,” says
Betsy Ferris Wyman, SunDog Solar’s Vice President of Sales. “For
little or no money down, customers can have a solar electric system
installed and save from day one.”
The new program allows customers to lease the necessary equipment
instead of buying it. SunDog Solar continues to own the equipment and
perform all the necessary maintenance. The customer pays a fixed low
monthly lease payment, and save on their electricity bill. The leasing
program virtually eliminates the heavy upfront costs of owning the
equipment, previously an obstacle to many considering installing solar
electric systems.
SunDog Solar is at the forefront of renewable energy installation and
with this new program, demonstrates how technical innovation, creative
financing, government stimulus and goodwill can all come together for
the benefit of future generations.
“We want to make solar affordable for every customer and give those in
both the public and private sector an opportunity to become part of
the solution related to energy conservation the larger energy issues
we face,” says Jody Rael, President and Founder of SunDog Solar.“Schools shouldn’t have to choose between environmental responsibility
or new computers for their students.“
For commercial businesses, schools, nonprofits, and municipalities,
SunDog’s leasing program offers an opportunity to have a 40-kilowatt
solar electric (PV ) system install at their facility, with a 20-year
lease agreement. A 40K-W system is expected to generate approximately
44,000-kilowatt hours of electricity and offsets about 31 metric tons
of carbon dioxide. This system is expected to provide a cumulative
value of $147,000 over a 20 year lease term.
For homeowners, SunDog Solar offers a 4-kilowatt system, with a 5- or
15- year lease agreement. This system is expected to generate
approximately 4,000-kilowatt hours of electricity and typically
supplies about a third to half of the electricity needs for an average
family of four. “When the lease ends, the customer can buy the system
from us at its current market value, extend their lease, or transfer
the lease if the home is sold, “ says Wyman. “We’re getting positive
feedback to this program and we’re confident that as people learn
about the overwhelming benefits, the program will grow rapidly.”
