ICE SKATING ON OAKDALE LAKE

There is one happy outcome of the enduringly frigid temperatures and ice everywhere —ice skating!

The ice on Oakdale Lake is now sufficiently thick to permit ice skating, and a rink has been cleared.

Skating is permitted on the lake on weekdays from 4 to 5 pm and again from 6 to 9 pm.

Ice conditions are monitored by the Hudson Youth Department. To check on ice conditions before venturing up there, call the Youth Department at 828-0017 and speak with Trudy Beicht or George Bednar.

To get to Oakdale Lake from Hudson, head north on Sixth Street. Oakdale is on the right just after you cross Washington Street. To get to Oakdale lake from Greenport, turn onto Glenwood Boulevard from Fairview Avenue.
