What are those strange animals stopping traffic on Broad Street in Kinderhook? Is it a promotion for a polar circus? Jack Frost gone wild?
No, the fantasy snow sculptures decorating the snow-covered lawn of the Van Schaack House were created by the bed and breakfast's chef, Herminio Ramirez. Ramirez told ccSCOOP, "The children in the village enjoy the snow animals very much. It gets me out of the house and gives me something to do on a winter day." The snow animals are a post-snowstorm tradition on the lawn of 22 Broad Street.
The current menagerie consists of a mama kangaroo and her joey, a koala, a dolphin, a horse, a dog, a lion, and a penguin— with more animals arriving daily. So come take a look and enjoy Herminio's zoo before Mr. Sun ends the show!
