UPDATE 04-08-09 - The count of absentee ballots not from military or federal personnel overseas began in Columbia County today, but the results were not included in the updated numbers issued by the New York State Board of Elections at the end of the day today.

According to the NYSBOE's latest unofficial tally, the margin is still 17 votes. In the numbers from Essex County, Murphy picked up one vote on the Democratic line and Tedisco picked up one on the Republican line. The totals are now 77,018 for Murphy and 77,035 for Tedisco.
