From Saturday to Sunday, it rained through the night, but when the sun rose on Sunday morning, it promised to be a perfect day for the Ghostly Gallop, the 5K run through the streets of Hudson to benefit the Hudson Area Association Library. Sixty-six runners and walkers set out from the library at the corner of Fourth and State at shortly after 9 a.m., and sixty-six runners and walkers returned to the library, having made a circuit of the city, in anywhere from just over 19 minutes to just over 55 minutes.
The overall winners among the men were Bryce Courbois (19 min. 12 sec.), Patrick LaChance (19 min. 29 sec.), and Kenneth Pierce (19 min. 42 sec.). The overall winners among the women were Amy Welsh (20 min. 52 sec.), Kristina Hubert (21 min. 37 sec.), and Teresa Warner Maiuri (23 min. 15 sec.).
After the 5K race, there was a one-mile Kids’ Race, for children 12 and under. The winners in that race were, for the girls, Shannon LaChance (7 min. 30 sec.), Caileigh Bewick (9 min. 40 sec.), and Maria Carlucci (9 min. 42 sec.), and for the boys, Austin Valliere (7 min. 40 sec.), Griffin Howard (8 min. 13 sec.), and Anthony Carlucci (8 min. 31 sec.).
