Nineteen Holes with COARC

Mellenville, NY: The 4th annual COARC OpportuniTees Gerald J. Dieffenbach Memorial Golf Tournament supports COARC programs and services for individuals who experience disabilities. Held in honor of former COARC Board President and avid golfer Gerald J. Dieffenbach, the 2010 tournament is Tuesday, September 14th at Columbia Golf & Country Club, 295 Route 217 in Claverack.

“We want golfers to know how great it is to come here and play,” stated Marc Levesque, Head Golf Professional of Columbia Golf & Country Club. “Our course offers a variety of shots and challenging greens for players of all abilities.”

“The players who come here just love it. I only hear compliments,” stated Mickey Dennis, Chair of the COARC OpportuniTees Gerald J. Dieffenbach Memorial Golf Tournament.

Registration is $120 for each golfer and includes the greens fee, golf cart, lunch and refreshments during play, and cocktails and dinner following play. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. The tournament is a four-person scramble. Prizes will be awarded for the putting contest, longest drive, closest to the pin, closest to the line, plus first, second and third place gross and net scoring teams. COARC is celebrating 45 years of expanding abilities, one person at a time, so individuals experiencing disabilities can meet their individual goals. COARC is the Columbia County Chapter of NYSARC, Inc. and provides programs and services to more than 500 individuals. It is primarily supported through state and federal funding, and also by individual and corporate members, donors and foundations.
