CHATHAM REAL FOOD MARKET IS OPEN FOR THE 2011 SEASON

It's growing season again and the Chatham Farmers Market will begin Friday, June 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. and will be back every Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. through October 14. The Market is located outside at the Chatham Real Food Market Co-op, 15 Church St. (Route 203), Chatham, one block west of the intersection of Routes 203 & 66, the only stoplight in Chatham. The public is warmly invited to the Farmers Market to enjoy fresh seasonal foods while getting to know our local farmers and producers face-to-face.

The market will be beautiful this summer, hosting a great group of seasonal vendors including Berkshire Mountain Bakery with an assortment of fresh-baked delicious sourdough breads, Little Seed Gardens and Et Cetera Farm’s great fresh organic produce, and The Red Barn’s savory prepared foods including baked chicken, as well as homemade fruit pies.

Also at the Market will be Schober Farm’s pastured beef, the Sylvia Center of Katchkie Farm with prepared foods made from local ingredients by Great Celebrations of NYC, and St. James Church with fair-trade Guatemalan coffee and crafts. In addition, we’ll have Blue Star Farm’s garden-fresh sustainably grown vegetables, Grimaldi & Sons certified organically raised beef, Shaker Mountain Cannery’s prepared foods, Ian’s Fresh Juice Garden (new this season), and last but certainly not least, Magdalena’s ever-popular Mexican Menu. A variety of other vendors will be visiting as well, on selected days through the season…

Additional parking for the Market will be available in the lot across the street from the Co-op, courtesy of Lofgren Insurance Agency.

The Chatham Real Food Market Co-op is a community-owned full-service market featuring the products of local farms and kitchens. All are welcome to shop at the Co-op -- membership is not required. The Co-op provides education about Columbia County agriculture and promotes a more localized food system. Its goal is to strengthen rural community, develop food security, and help build a healthy local economy in Columbia County. The Co-op is open Tuesdays 10-5, Wednesdays 10-5, Thursdays and Fridays 10-7, and Saturdays, 10-5.The Co-op is located at 15 Church Street (Route 203) one block west of Route 66 in Chatham.
