MAO'S LAST DANCER AT UPSTATE FILMS

08-27-10 - Li Cunxin's internationally best selling autobiography that detailed his beginnings in Madame Mao's China to his stardom with the Houston Ballet has been turned into what looks to be a lollapalooza of east-meets-west and a cinematic eyeful. Mao's Last Dancer is directed by Bruce Beresford, who knows a thing or two about the big picture (he's also directed operas for the stage). He's in Woodstock directing Jane Fonda in a new movie for 2011 entitled Peace, Love and Misunderstanding and will be at Upstate Films this Tuesday (August 31) to introduce the 8:15 show.
