The press release from Time and Space Limited, where Food, Inc.was shown last weekend and will be shown again this weekend describes the film as "a stirring documentary that dishes out the dirt on what you're eating and how it got to your plate. Far from the happy cows and family garden plots seen on supermarket labels, director Robert Kenner, with the help of writers Eric Schlosser and Michael Pollan, shows what's really behind your dinner. This visually stunning work of investigative cinematography shows the underbelly of a food industry hidden from the public eye and asks, what are the hidden costs of cheap food, and what can we do about it?"
Food, Inc. will be shown at 5:30 and 7:30 on Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31. The film was directed by Robert Kenner and runs for 93 minutes. Admission is $5 for students and members of TSL, $7 for nonmembers.
Attending one of the screenings gives you the chance to win—appropriately—three pounds of locally roasted fair-trade coffee from Strongtree Organic Coffee Roasters on South Front Street in Hudson.
